When a confirmed booking is altered either the number of days increase or decrease or the booking total increases or decreases due to a room/unit change, these changes need to be discussed between the guest and host directly. Afristay charges their full service fee and does not get involved in booking amendments.Afristay will also not refund any portion of their service fee to either the guest or the host once a booking is confirmed.
The reasons for this are:
1. Afristay cannot verify if the booking amount was changed, as we only handle the deposit amount.
2. Our system cannot support the process and the administration required is simply too intensive. (it involves manual recalculating amounts, adjusting VAT payout amounts to SARS, manually adjusting host payouts or manually refunds to host or guest, which adds extra to our bank fees).
